I didn’t set out to build a business.
I just wanted some cute jewelry.
It was Summer time in 2005. I went to a friend’s jewelry party, fell in love with the sparkle, and when the hostess started talking about the business opportunity, something inside me sparked.
I didn’t have experience. I didn’t have a plan. But I had curiosity—and just enough courage to say, “Why not?”
That was my first real taste of network marketing.
I remember opening that starter kit and being blown away. All that jewelry felt like Christmas morning. I was excited… and terrified. Could I really do this?
But here’s what I did know:
I loved people. I loved connecting. I loved sharing things I believed in.
(Still do.)
So I started hosting parties. This was pre-social media—everything was built off of word-of-mouth. One party led to another, and then another. I built momentum. I felt purpose. I felt joy. I found myself.
Then, life happened. I got engaged. Got married. Got pregnant. We moved out to our little farmstead in the country. My priorities shifted, and the jewelry business faded.
But the seed had been planted.
And that seed? It was about more than products.
It was about potential.
This was the beginning of something bigger—though I didn’t know it yet.
XOXO ~ Carrie
